HS School's 10th Annual Geography Bee

As I've stated before, I like to use this blog site for homework and extra credit postings.  Here is a really good opportunity to earn a whopping 20 extra credit points!

On April 18, 2013, HS will be holding its annal Geography Bee.  To be a participant, you need to sign up with Mr. Tennant in room 245 by March 29th.  To get the 20 extra credit points, you must fully participate with the Geography Bee on April 18th in the main auditorium at 4pm in the afternoon.

But wait a minute, you have a chance to increase your grade further.  If you pass through to the county round and participate in the county Geography Bee at Tardis High School on April 30th, I will raise your final exam grade by 1 letter grade.

There is plenty of time to practice and prepare.  Mr. Tennant and Mr. Smith will be holding study events every week from October on.  So you can attend these events and see if you would like to participate in the Bee in April.

Following are a few links you can check out.  I promise you, however, that our Geography Bee and the county's will not be as intense as the National Geography Bee and in the past years we've all had a lot of fun.  Tickets for the event will go on sale and proceeds will benefit the Social Studies Department.

Good Luck!  If you have any questions, as always, let me know!

Take a look at this YouTube of Alex Trebek and the National Geographic Geography Bee in 2000.  There are some really smart kids out there that sure know their geography!
